How meter data and billing became one clear flow
Meter readings from several sources had to move into energy and billing processes with a traceable history. A wrong value could not travel silently into an invoice.

Many data sources, no shared truth
Readings arrived in different formats and at different times. They had to match master data for units, users and billing periods. A successful import did not mean that a value was fit for business use.
The central question went beyond moving data. Every processing step needed to explain where a value came from, how it was checked and why it belonged to a particular process.
We turned data transfer into a verifiable flow
We built the integration around explicit handoffs. Errors stayed visible where they occurred.
Normalized sources and contracts
Incoming data was mapped to one shared schema before business logic or billing consumed it.
Validated before processing
Plausibility, required fields, time periods and assignments were checked before a record could move on.
Made handoffs repeatable
Imports and background runs could be repeated safely without processing the same value twice.
Explained failures to operators
Logs and statuses identified the source or mapping that needed attention instead of returning only a technical error code.
What changed
- Invalid or incomplete readings became visible before downstream processing.
- A value could be traced through its source, validation and handoff.
- Repeatable imports reduced manual corrections and duplicate processing.
For billing data, a silent error is more dangerous than a stopped import. We treated validation and traceability as part of the business feature, not as monitoring to add later.
System names, data models and billing rules have been anonymized. The integration work is based on real project requirements.
